Our Beginning

The Arts in Action was born from a real experience of how the power of love as expressed through creativity can meet need in a profound way. I heard a podcast where a Native American Chief was sharing his wisdom about his travels to promote peace through out the world. His words changed me and I began to wonder about his life and the life of his people. Upon further investigation I realized that most of his basic needs were being neglected. I thought, how is this even possible for this man to do so much good for the world and not have even a reliable form of transportation? So I did what artists do I created a painting in his honor. It was a peace blanket and I imagined wrapping Chief and his people in it as I painted. This painting spawned the first Arts in Action "Chief's Truck Campaign" . The original painting has gratefully been purchased and now a limited edition of prints are available on this site or through generosity.com the arts in action. Please consider sharing in this campaign and other worthy causes to come.

"One person can make a difference once you expand your vision past your self created limitations."

As an Artist and a healer I know the value beauty brings to life. The use of color and texture always brings me such joy. I believe that feeling of joy is transferred from an artist to the canvas. When an artist extends themselves past their fears and allows the Spirit to move through them what you see is a type of soul reflection in their work. That energy is a living breathing thing and when you choose to bring that energy into your home you will benefit from it as long as you live. That is the true power of Art.

Our Mission

Creativity has always been a pathway for finding solutions to needs of all kinds. The Arts in Action is dedicated to sharing creativity in a way that shines the light on human needs in a way that activates a response from the consumer. In this way we all benefit. You the consumer get to participate in a collaborative effort that makes a real difference to someone or to a larger project. Some have called it Conscious Commerce or Social Entrepreneurialism. I just call it good common sense.

The war bonnet is the symbol of the arts in action due to the tradition of creating beauty that will last the tests of time. It is our wish to restore what has been taken from these beautiful people. What better way to honor and thank them than by giving back?
